Please pray for those who are ill

We remember those whom we know,

who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

Ride and Stride Saturday 10th September 2022 sponsored walk for Wiltshire’s Historic Churches Trust

The plan this year is to walk a 12-mile circuit around all the churches in the Lidbrook Benefice. We have a small group of walkers starting from St John the Baptist, Colerne at 10 am but hope that members of St Thomas’s, St Christopher’s and Chapel Plaister will join us. It is possible just to walk part of the route: perhaps to and from your own church or just to the lunch stop at the Quarryman’s or a picnic on Box Common. If you’d like to walk a short way and need a lift please let me know This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Anyone from Box wishing to participate or get further details, please contact Pam Farmer 01225 744171 or This email address is being protected from spambots. We hope you will sponsor us. Half the money raised goes to Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust and the other fifty percent comes direct to the Benefice to help maintain the fabric of our church buildings.

You can donate through a Justgiving page

or we are happy to accept cash. Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Harvest Sunday 18th September

The Sisters of the Community of the Church at Bristol have written to us:

Dear Supporters,

Once again it is that time of year when we think of Harvest. As ever, we are so grateful for your loyal support - and even though we are aware that more of us are struggling financially, we ask for your continued help with the following:

Our basic food parcel includes:

  • Tinned: meat, fish, baked beans, soup, vegetables, custard, rice pudding, fruit.
  • Plus: cereals, rice, pasta, tea bags, long-life milk.
  • Toiletries: We offer men’s and women’s toiletries, and nappies (all sizes)

  • Our cafe: we serve coffee/tea and sandwiches, so jars of coffee and bottles of squash are very welcome.
  • Gas and Electric top-ups: We all know that those on pre-pay systems pay the highest tariffs. This also applies to utilities payments. Most weeks we spend up to £300 to help our clients with their electric bills. Any help that you are able to offer towards the items above is, as always, hugely appreciated.
  • Please continue to pray for our work, as we pray with thanksgiving for you.

James will be taking all our contributions to the Sisters on Monday 19th September, probably leaving about 9 am.

Harvest Lunch Sunday 18th September

We will be sharing a Harvest Lunch on Sunday 18th September after the service, We will be having a simple meal, consisting of platters of cheese, patés, breads etc, with apple pie and custard ? Please bring your own drinks, we will provide everything else. There will be a donations box, which we hope will cover the costs of the food. If you are thinking of coming, can you let John & Alison know so they approximate ideas of numbers for catering.

Regulations around Public Worship Please don't enter the building if you have symptoms of COVID-19 and sanitise your hands when you enter.  The area in the Hazelbury Chapel will continue to be a 'lower-risk' zone during Sunday services where face coverings should be worn, this is to provide an area for those who are vulnerable or wish to exercise more caution. Communion will be distributed by the president by intinction.
