We remember those whom we know,

who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

Also the families of those who have died

HEART - Sunday 12th January

4pm - 6pm

Heart 4 Rudloe meets on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, between 4pm and 6pm, and everyone of any age is welcome (children must bring an adult to look after them). The afternoon includes craft, tea drinking and Lego building. This is followed by prayer, story and songs.  We round off the afternoon with some food (a light meal).

This activity is free, and is being run as part of the work of the Church of England in Box Parish.  Please do come along and join us as we make, pray and eat in the MOD Corsham Community  Centre on Leafy Lane.

Ecumenical Prayer Vigil Saturday 18th January

The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is 18th – 25th January.

So, as well as praying for our fellow Christians, here is an opportunity to pray with our fellow Christians - for the great needs of our world, God’s world.

Besides the human suffering in Syria and the Yemen and elsewhere, there is Europe to pray for with all the Brexit upheaval, and the recent escalation of tension in the Middle East.

There will be an Ecumenical Drop-in Prayer Vigil on Saturday afternoon, 18th January, between 2.30pm and 5pm. Once again, Box Methodist Church are kindly providing the venue.

There will some music, some readings, and periods of silent reflection.

Please drop in, come and go as you find best between 2.30pm and 5pm and Light a Candle for the World.

Quiet Waters (Valens Terrace) Home Group

This week (9th January) we will resume our course of study on Prayer. We meet from 7.15pm for coffee and cake, aiming to start at 7.45pm and everyone is welcome. For more information, please contact Angela on 07835 812258 or Jamie on 07427 493422.

Canterbury Pilgrimage - 26th-30th May 2020

In recognition of our patronal saint Thomas Becket; Clair and Janet are planning to walk from London to Canterbury on pilgrimage. We will mainly be sticking to footpaths and hoping to walk about 10-12 miles a day Tuesday to Saturday. We will have a back up minibus. If you would like to come along on the pilgrimage please let Janet know as soon as possible so we can get plans together.

TOAST on Sunday 12th January!

We’re a fun youth group that meets in St Thomas à Becket every two weeks usually, between 6pm and 7.30pm.  Toast is a group for Year 6 and above.  We enjoy creatively exploring the Christian faith and eating

plenty of food to keep us going!  Please contact a  member of Clergy, one of the leaders, or just come along to find out more.

Our leaders at TOAST are:

Rev Clair Southgate               Tel: 01225 743970

The Filling Station on Tuesday 14th January

This month we are pleased to welcome Rev Ian Souter as our speaker. Ian is one of Two Ministers based in the Bath Mission Area. He has pastoral charge of Beechen Cliff and Weston Methodist churches as well as Horizon Methodist church.

The Filling Station is an informal “café style” evening in the Box Methodist church building on Box High Street. Coffee and cakes are served from 7pm and the service starts with musical worship from 7.30pm, followed by Ian’s talk and an opportunity for prayer, concluding at about 9.30pm
