Dates for Your Diary!

26th-30th May 2020: Canterbury Pilgrimage

In recognition of our patronal saint Thomas Becket; Clair and Janet are planning to walk from London to Canterbury on pilgrimage. We will mainly be sticking to footpaths and hoping to walk about 10-12 miles a day Tuesday to Saturday. We will have a back up minibus. If you would like to come along on the pilgrimage please let Janet know as soon as possible so we can get plans together.

14th September: Ride & Stride

In preparation for the Canterbury Pilgrimage Janet would like to take a group of walkers to participate in the ‘Ride and Stride’ this year. This is in addition to welcoming ‘riders’ and ‘striders’ into our own church. We will work out a route which will be about the same distance we are planning for next year. We are going to start at Colerne and head to Melksham via our own church buildings and some other Wiltshire ones, our handy back up vehicle can deliver those who need a lift to Colerne, and collect us all from Melksham.

12th October: Quiet Day

We have confirmed that the Quiet Day will be at Marshfield Church on 12th October. It is a day for reflection and prayer and will be themed around knowing God through our senses. Refreshments from 10.30am, Prayers etc from 11am. The day will finish at 3pm.

There will be a couple of short talks, some optional reflective activities, a brief communion service and lunch will be provided.

Please let Angela Dew, Clair or Janet know if you would like to come along.

Prayer Circle

If you would like prayer between 7th and14th September, please ring Pam Farmer 01225 744171.

World Concern Prayer Gathering

In the Box Parish Magazine under the heading A NEW MONTHLY  GATHERING you will see you are invited to a meeting to pray for national and world issues on Wednesday 20th September, at 6pm at 1 Woodstock Cottages. The date doesn't exist!  It should be Wednesday 18th September. Please contact John and Alice Sumner for more details.

HEART - Sunday 8th September

4pm - 6pm

Heart 4 Rudloe meets on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, between 4pm and 6pm, and everyone of any age is welcome (children must bring an adult to look after them). The afternoon includes craft, tea drinking and Lego building. This is followed by prayer, story and songs.  We round off the afternoon with some food (a light meal).

This activity is free, and is being run as part of the work of the Church of England in Box Parish.  Please do come along and join us as we make, pray and eat in the MOD Corsham Community  Centre on Leafy Lane.

The Filling Station on Tuesday 10th September

This month we are pleased to welcome Helen Azer as our speaker. Helen is ordained and a Director for Heartcry Ministries, connecting with the bigger picture of what God is doing nationally and internationally as she travels, teaches and ministers in conferences, retreats and training days. The Filling Station is an informal “café style” evening in the Box Methodist church building on Box High Street. Coffee and cakes are served from 7pm and the service starts with musical worship from 7.30pm, followed by Helen’s talk and an opportunity for prayer, concluding at about 9.30pm
