Lord God,

your Son left the riches of heaven

and became poor for our sake:

when we prosper save us from pride,

when we are needy save us from despair,

that we may trust in you alone;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Please pray for those who are ill

We remember those whom we know,

who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

Also the families of those who have died

Dates for Your Diary!

26th-30th May 2020: Canterbury Pilgrimage

In recognition of our patronal saint Thomas Becket; Clair and Janet are planning to walk from London to Canterbury on pilgrimage. We will mainly be sticking to footpaths and hoping to walk about 10-12 miles a day Tuesday to Saturday. We will have a back up minibus. If you would like to come along on the pilgrimage please let Janet know as soon as possible so we can get plans together.

14th September: Ride & Stride

In preparation for the Canterbury Pilgrimage Janet would like to take a group of walkers to participate in the ‘Ride and Stride’ this year. This is in addition to welcoming ‘riders’ and ‘striders’ into our own church. We will work out a route which will be about the same distance we are planning for next year. Please let Janet know if you would like to take part in this day of walking.

 12th October: Quiet Day

After the request at the Annual Meeting Clair and Janet have agreed that the Quiet Day will be Saturday 12th October.

10-3, venue to be confirmed, more details nearer the date. Let Angela Dew know if you would like to come along.

 Mid-week Services

If you would like to come to church but can’t come on a Sunday or would find a shorter service more comfortable for health or other issues, please remember you are always welcome at the Wednesday 10.30am service of Holy Communion, or you are welcome to join with one of the Nursing Home communions at Bybrook House or Brunel House. Please contact Janet or Clair for more details. There’ll be communion at Bybrook House on Wednesday 24th at 2.30pm and all are welcome.

ALPHA...What is life all about for you ?

Is there a purpose for me? Do I need faith?   If you are interested in exploring questions like these, do join us for relaxed discussions, including a free meal, on a day to be decided. Alpha is a very well established, practical course introducing the Christian faith, running over a period of ten weeks. We hope to begin the course in September from our home. Any enquiries are welcome and we look forward to hearing from you.  Please ring Jenny Poulsom on 01225 810278 or 07869470381.

 Giving via card payment

Following successful trials, a payment card terminal will be set up just inside the door for all the main services (ie 1030 on Sundays, funerals and weddings etc) so that donations to the church can be made via credit card, either Contactless or using your PIN number, according to preference.

Repairs and Maintenance at StTaB

Please just be aware that repairs and maintenance are ongoing and will last for another few weeks.
