Collect

Risen Christ,

by the lakeside you renewed your call to your disciples:

help your Church to obey your command

and draw the nations to the fire of your love,

to the glory of God the Father.

Please pray for those who are ill

We remember those whom we know,

who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

Also the families of those who have died

Christian Aid 2019

Huge thanks to all the volunteers who gave up their time to participate in the door-to-door collections for Christian Aid. Cash donations total approximately £900 – we are waiting for the total for donations made on the card machine.

Thank you also to TOAST who braved the elements once again last Saturday morning and cooked delicious bacon butties, raising about £70 for Christian Aid in cash - and more on the card machine!

Box Revels on Monday 27th May

This year and we will be serving Teas in the Pavilion, as well as staffing an Ecumenical prayer and activity tent. Lots of help, prayer and support needed, please!

We would particularly appreciate cakes for the Revels Teas - these can be homemade or shop bought - all would be gratefully received in the Pavilion on Revels day or can be collected earlier if necessary. Please contact Judy (01225 742308) or Brenda (01225 742800) if you can help.

Many hands make light work!

We are hoping to recruit more church cleaners who would like to contribute to keeping our beautiful church looking fresh, well cared-for and sweet-smelling! Cleaners only tackle the tasks they are comfortable with, and work in pairs (although this is not essential) at a time to suit themselves. There is a rota, with each person’s name appearing approximately nine times a year—that’s less than once every five weeks :) If you feel you could offer this valuable service to our church community, please contact Pam Farmer 01225 744171 or This email address is being protected from spambots. HEART - Sunday 26th May

4pm - 6pm

Heart 4 Rudloe meets on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, between 4pm and 6pm, and everyone of any age is welcome (children must bring an adult to look after them). The afternoon includes craft, tea drinking and Lego building. This is followed by prayer, story and songs.  We round off the afternoon with some food (a light meal).

This activity is free, and is being run as part of the work of the Church of England in Box Parish.  Please do come along and join us as we make, pray and eat in the MOD Corsham Community  Centre on Leafy Lane.

TOAST meets on the second and fourth Sunday of the month.

A fun youth group that meets in St Thomas à Becket every two weeks usually, between 6pm and 7.30pm.  Toast is a group for Year 6 and above.  We enjoy creatively exploring the Christian faith and eating plenty of food to keep us going!  Please contact a  member of Clergy, one of the leaders, or just come along to find out more.  Our leaders at TOAST are:

Rev Clair Southgate                        Tel: 01225 743970

                        Ian MacKenzie                                  Tel: 01225 744458

Mid-week Services

If you would like to come to church but can’t come on a Sunday or would find a shorter service more comfortable for health or other issues, please remember you are always welcome at the Wednesday 10.30am service of Holy Communion, or you are welcome to join with one of the Nursing Home communions at Bybrook House or Brunel House. Please contact Janet or Clair for more details.
