Collect

Risen Christ,

you filled your disciples with boldness and fresh hope:

strengthen us to proclaim your risen life

and fill us with your peace,

to the glory of God the Father.

Please pray for those who are ill

We remember those whom we know,

who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

Also the families of those who have died

Save the date!

Box Revels is on Monday 27th May this year and we will be serving Teas in the Pavilion, as well as staffing an Ecumenical prayer and activity tent. Lots of help, prayer and support needed,

please!

Grace on Wednesday 8th May - Grannies needed!

Grace is on Wednesday 8th May 3.30-5.30 pm at Box Methodist Church. We usually work to the following plan:

3.30  Play, treasure hunt and story

3.50  Crafts

4.20  Songs, talk and prayers

4.45  Food

If you might be able to come along and help, for all or even part of the session, please let Janet know. We would especially welcome Grannies (and Grandpas!) with experience of lovely grandchildren and talking to parents, to help with the craft tables.

Many hands make light work!

We are hoping to recruit more church cleaners who would like to contribute to keeping our beautiful church looking fresh, well cared-for and sweet-smelling! Cleaners only tackle the tasks they are comfortable with, and work in pairs (although this is not essential) at a time to suit themselves. There is a rota, with each person’s name appearing approximately nine times a year—that’s less than once every five weeks :) If you feel you could offer this valuable service to our church community, please contact Pam Farmer 01225 744171 or This email address is being protected from spambots. The Filling Station on Tuesday 14th May

This month we are pleased to welcome Rev David Hull as our speaker. David is currently the Chaplain at Kingswood School, Bath, and has previously preached on the Yeovil and Blackmore Vale Methodist Circuit; prior to that, he was Head of Boarding at Kings College School, Cambridge. He will be speaking on “Pentecostal Glory” - uplifting and inspiring!

The Filling Station is an informal “café style” evening in the Box Methodist church building on Box High Street. Coffee and cakes are served from 7pm and the service starts with musical worship from 7.30pm, followed by David’s talk and an opportunity for prayer, concluding at about 9.30pm

Mid-week Services

If you would like to come to church but can’t come on a Sunday or would find a shorter service more comfortable for health or other issues, please remember you are always welcome at the Wednesday 10.30am service of Holy Communion, or you are welcome to join with one of the Nursing Home communions at Bybrook House or Brunel House. Please contact Janet or Clair for more details.
