The Collect for the Day

Lord of creation,

whose glory is around and within us:

open our eyes to your wonders,

that we may serve you with reverence

and know your peace at our lives’ end,

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Please pray for those who are ill

John Mortimer

Freddy Connolly

John Sumner

We remember those whom we know,

who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

TeePee tidy up

The work in the church on Project TeePee is scheduled to complete this coming Friday,21 Sept.  It currently looks as though that target should just about be met.

The Big Clean.  Your Church Wardens are planning a Big Clean of StTaB on Sat 6 October, starting at 1000,  and would welcome as much help as possible, please.  The intention is to have a deep clean following the TeePee work (which should finish a couple of weeks earlier), settle the crockery, flower arranging gear, children's activity items etc etc into their new cupboards, and carry out a major clean of silver and brass stored in the vestry.  This should give endless fun for all, but if none of the above has appeal for you then there is probably a chance to join in the disposal of unwanted junk!

Opening of the new facilities

Obviously we shall start using the facilities as soon as we can but they will be more formally opened and blessed in a special service at10.30am on Sunday 28 Oct.

Bishop Vivienne, the new Bishop of Bristol, has accepted an invitation to join us that day and this is particularly exciting as Box will therefore be one of the first parishes which she visits.

Please save the date if you can. It is hoped also to have some sort of "open house" for the village that afternoon but arrangements for this have not yet been settled.

  1. Please note that this arrangement supersedes anything you may have previously heard or read about an opening on 25 Nov.

Valens Terrace Home Group

We're studying the book of Daniel, now in the latter chapters, and we're finding it intriguing! We meet Thursdays, from 7.30pm (for coffee and cake) for a 8pm start, and everyone is welcome.
