The Collect for the Day

Lord God,

defend your Church from all false teaching

and give to your people knowledge of your truth,

that we may enjoy eternal life

in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Please pray for those who are ill

John Mortimer

Freddy Connolly

John Sumner

We remember those whom we know, who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

Opening of the new facilities

The work in the church should complete on about 21 September. Once that date is finalised it is intended to ask for a gathering to conduct a Big Clean.  Obviously we shall start using the facilities as soon as we can but they will be more formally opened and blessed in a special service at 10.30am on Sunday 28 Oct.

Bishop Vivienne, the new Bishop of Bristol, has accepted an invitation to join us that day and this is particularly exciting as Box will therefore be one of the first parishes which she visits.

Please save the date if you can. It is hoped also to have some sort of "open house" for the village that afternoon but arrangements for this have not yet been settled.

  1. Please note that this arrangement supersedes anything you may have previously heard or read about an opening on 25 Nov.
