The Collect for the Day

Gracious Father,

by the obedience of Jesus

you brought salvation to our wayward world:

draw us into harmony with your will,

that we may find all things restored in him,

our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Please pray for those who are ill

Dafydd Stradling

John Mortimer

Pam Farmer

We remember those whom we know,

who are suffering in sickness or adversity,

and those who especially need our prayers at this time.

Please pray for Rev Janet as she continues her sabbatical

26 June - Talk by Clair Fussell of the Diocesan Staff

At the moment the routine outgoings for this year from our General Fund, which covers both StTaB and CP, are probably going to exceed our likely income by about £2,000, even though we are paying the diocese far less through our "Parish Share" than we did about 5 years ago.  This potential annual deficit is without taking account of Project TeePee or any major building maintenance.   Last year we survived the situation by drawing on an unexpected and very welcome legacy but we cannot continue routinely to pay out from our funds more money than is coming in. The PCC is going to listen to the advice of the very helpful Diocesan Fundraising Adviser, Clair Fussell, on Tues 26 June at 7.30pm in the church and it would be really helpful if as many other people as possible could also attend so that together we can learn about the options and discuss them if necessary.

Do please put the date in your diary and try to come! Thanks! Charles

Open Gardens

Many congratulations and huge thanks to John Tucker and everybody involved with the Open Gardens and the teas last Sunday. The organisation was superb and the gardens were beautiful.  Not only did everybody who visited have a wonderful time but also the fabulous sum of £1,300 was raised, 20% more than the previous best-ever.
