Members of St Thomas à Becket Church live out our Christian values in the world by being a caring community. The Pastoral Care Ministry Team is there to help members of the church community with their religious, spiritual and personal needs, especially those facing significant life events. The Ministry Team assists our Vicar by coordinating emotional support through caring, visiting, listening and encouraging.

The Pastoral Care Team is a confidential listening ministry. We have a specially trained and certified* team of Christians, lead by Jenny Danter, willing to spend time with you, listen to you and pray with you on a one to one basis. If we can help in a practical way, we'll do our best. All contacts are entirely confidential and all visits are overseen by the vicar.

Someone to talk to: Are you feeling worried, confused, hurt or concerned about someone or something in your life? Please don't carry your burden alone. Arrange to meet with a member of our Pastoral Support team and talk to them.

Someone to listen: It can be a tremendous release to talk through our worries and concerns. It can be a great source of encouragement to have someone to give time to sit and listen to us.

Someone to pray: Never hesitate to ask for prayer! God is interested in every area of our lives. A Pastoral Support team member will be happy to pray with you. Also, please feel free to complete and place one of the prayer request cards in the Hazelbury Chapel, and your needs will be remembered at our weekly prayer meeting.

How can you contact a Pastoral Support team member?

Our Vicar Revd Dr Janet Anderson-MacKenzie can put you in touch with a member of the team.

Or leave your details in Church - make a note of your name, address and contact details and put them in an envelope on the prayer table in the Hazelbury Chapel and a team member will contact you as soon as possible.

Or email us on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and someone will request a Pastoral Support team member to get in touch with you as soon as possible.
